Payslip
Employer contributions (info)
Calculation without guarantee and not a substitute for tax or payroll advice. BVG and NBU rates depend on the company and pension fund rules. Withholding tax is not included.
What belongs on a Swiss payslip?
A correct payslip transparently shows the gross salary, all social insurance deductions and the net salary paid out. In Switzerland, AHV/IV/EO, unemployment insurance (ALV), non-occupational accident insurance (NBU) and – above the entry threshold – occupational pension (BVG) are deducted from the gross salary. Expenses are not AHV-liable and are paid out separately on top of the net salary.
The key deductions at a glance
- AHV / IV / EO
- Old-age, survivors' and disability insurance plus income compensation. Employee share is 5.30% of gross salary (2026).
- ALV
- Unemployment insurance: 1.1% of gross salary up to an annual salary of CHF 148,200.
- NBU (accident)
- Non-occupational accident insurance, paid by the employee. The rate depends on the company (default 1.3%).
- BVG (pension fund)
- Occupational pension on the coordinated salary. The rate depends on age and the pension fund's rules; statutory minimum rates are used here.
Frequently asked questions
Which deductions belong on a payslip?
By default AHV/IV/EO (5.30%), ALV (1.1% up to CHF 148,200 annual salary), NBU (company-dependent) and BVG (above the entry threshold, age- and rule-dependent). A daily sickness benefit deduction (KTG) is optional.
How high is the AHV deduction in 2026?
The employee share for AHV/IV/EO is 5.30% of the gross salary. The employer pays the same share.
How is the BVG deduction calculated?
The BVG deduction is based on the coordinated salary (annual salary minus the coordination deduction of CHF 26,460, capped between CHF 3,780 and 64,260). The contribution rate rises with age; ultimately the pension fund's rules apply.
How do I get from gross to net salary?
Net salary = gross salary minus the sum of all social insurance deductions. Tax-free expenses are then added to the payout.
Can I download the payslip as a template?
Yes. You can download the completed payslip as a PDF with one click – print-ready in A4 format and free of charge.
Is withholding tax included?
No. Withholding tax is cantonal and tariff-based and is intentionally excluded in this MVP. For employees subject to withholding tax, the relevant tariff must be applied separately.
